- Establishes external leadership in our industry by building a Medical Affairs Implementation Science team with full responsibility for hiring, fully supporting people development, and maintaining key skills to ensure full support for corporate and country (US, Germany, China, and Japan) teams in embedding implementation science into medical affairs.
- Partners with the head of GCPT to develop a novel framework for embedding IS across Human Pharma to be deployed by multiple countries (including, but not limited to US, Germany, China and Japan) in partnership with a broad range of internal (Medial Affairs, Access, Commercial, Clinical Development and Operations (CD&O), TAs, countries, regions) and external stakeholders (healthcare systems (HCS), patients, healthcare professionals, payers).
- Designs training and leads the development implementation science competencies (e.g., defining appropriate clinical questions, selecting best design, study execution and interpretation of results) that do not currently exist into corporate functions (Data Science, RWE, Clinical Development and Operations, Medical Affairs), TAs and in key countries (US, Germany, China, and Japan).
- Builds and leads new cross-functional collaborations with teams in top countries (US, Germany, China, and Japan) to implement IS roadmap including, but not limited to, understanding the need for IS and how it can help address practical questions for healthcare practitioners (HCPs), defining processes on ensuring IS studies are consistent with legal and compliance requirements, designing fit-for-purpose IS studies, and executing IS studies effectively.
- Is a strategic partner to Head of GCPT and GMA LT.
- Advanced degree required: Minimum Master or MBA in relevant field / MD, PhD, PharmD preferable.
- Many years of experience in pharmaceutical industry.
- Minimum five (5) years in medical affairs roles/responsibilities at a global and/or country level.
- Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience; including building and managing teams.
- Deep understanding of external healthcare landscape, specifically HCS and delivery of care in one or more countries with high competency in external stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated deep knowledge of external partnerships, implementation science and measuring external outcomes defined by external stakeholders.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
