Working cooperatively with another teacher, you teach a class of approx. 18 children. . You develop weekly lesson plans to ignite the curiosity and growth of the children in our preschool. You track each child's growth through observations, portfolio documentation, developmental checklist, and assessment data.As a Head Start teacher, you not only provide an educational opportunity to children, but you work with the whole family to help them become more self-sufficient. Each year you conduct two home visits and two parent-teacher conferences.The Lead Teacher completes case management for each student's family, creates lesson plans, and assists children in achieving their goals.Since you love interacting with children, you can definitely say that you get paid to do what you love.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, family and consumer studies, or a related degree with equivalent coursework in early childhood education required.
Associate's in child development or early childhood education, or equivalent coursework required.
One-year experience working with Preschoolers
Computer skills
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred, but not required. Previous Head Start teaching experience is a plus! Are you able to work well independently and as part of a team?
