Marmon businesses operate more than 400 manufacturing, distribution, and service facilities, and employ more than 20,000 people globally.The Plant Manager is in charge of managing all site-related activities and functions including distribution and manufacturing, both directly and indirectly. Responsible for site performance to achieve key performance indicators.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage Operating Budget
  • Oversight to plant safety (zero incident culture)
  • Accountable for on time delivery in full shipments
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives through Kaizen events
  • Direct Shipping & Receiving Department
  • Inventory:
  • Work with both Supply Chain and Planner Scheduler to maintain raw material stock / reorder levels.
  • Perform Cycle Counts
  • Submit Inventory Certifications
  • Production:
  • Issue Production Work Orders
  • Record Production
  • Close work order
  • Create BOMs as needed.
  • Accountable for production quality.
  • Maintain MRO spending budget.
  • Work to implement Lean Manufacturing whenever possible.
  • Maintenance:
  • Create work orders to direct Maintenance Department activities.
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedule on production equipment.
  • Order all plant supplies.
  • Maintain Plant Cleanliness & Organization using 5s methodology.
  • Implement Plant Employee Schedules:
  • Schedule all shifts
  • Approve and submit all hours for hourly employees.
  • Approve PTO for direct reports.
  • Implement attendance policy.
  • Perform additional projects, duties or assignments as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPENTENCIES:
  • College degree in business or engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a supervisory position; experience in manufacturing, fabricating and a machine shop environment preferred. Lean manufacturing background preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as possess the ability to be trained in company specific software
  • Extensive ERP/MRP software experience needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Ability to manage, direct, and motivate a team.
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred
