Our current advanced digital solutions, accessed by millions across web, mobile, and living room devices, signify just the start of our ambitious journey.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Digital Media Operations Manager will be reporting to the VP of Digital Operations. This role will manage team members and all technical and operational workflows for Fox Sports digital streaming service. This includes enforcing SOP, defining, and refining SOPs, operating live events and monitor the health of the production systems via sophisticated monitoring solutions, be a central point of communication, participate in incidents and triaging, and escalating to other teams if needed to support the Fox Sports digital streaming service. In addition, the Digital Media Manager will manage team schedule, be the go-to-person to report the status of the production environment and manage all incidents to resolution.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESManaging team shift rotation schedule to always support sufficient coverage across all shiftsEnforcing team guidelines, process, and policyTake the role of Lead Incident Manager during issues. This includes communicating to stake holders, assembling the correct resources to mitigate the issue, updating the incidents, and driving the incident to resolutionUpdate open incident daily and create weekly incident reportsMaintain Performance Statistics ReportingTraining and onboarding new hires, ensuring proper access to all essential tools and documentationsContinual creating and updating of SOP and other documentationLead weekly meetings such as incident management and team meetingsOvernight On-Call duties as an escalation point for the teamConstantly looking for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness within team and be the feedback loop to engineering as part of the Continuous Improvement ProcessProject manage the onboarding and creating of new operational tools and processes as well as supporting new Fox business and servicesBeing the SME in Broadcast and Media StreamingParticipate in the Engineering quarterly PI Planning, being the digital operations representative and providing requirements for operationsCommunicating major and critical incidents to executive, breaking down the technical details in a manner which the executives can comprehend.Create and maintain operational and technical diagramsBecome an expert in the monitoring tools used by the Digital Media OperationsConstant monitoring of the backend systems, network, API services, client apps, and the live video streamsInvestigate all alerts generated by the monitoring solutions.Identify all issues in productionSupport live events and day-to-day offerings by preparing documentation to guide event readiness and participate in the day of operational coverageExecute production changes to Digital systems, infrastructure, products, and platforms in support of event and release activitiesAct as a point of contact for incident escalation for the Tier 1 Operations team and triage and mitigate as neededWHAT YOU WILL NEEDHands-on experience in a production/operational roleExperience in a leadership role (Supervisor or higher)Experience with the operation and management of cloud-based services, including operational processes, such as incident management life cycle and event management approachesStrong technical understanding in digital, coding, networking, systems, and/or applicationsStrong understanding with modern operations concepts such as Agile and DevOpsFamiliarity with security as it applies to operational platforms and processesStrong understanding in internet technologies, especially streaming and cloud technologies and services, basic network components and how they interoperate, as well as Internet protocols and configurationsFamiliarity of orchestration and monitoring of cloud-native servicesAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions and keep a cool head while under pressureCredibility with partner-stakeholders (business, engineering, product/program etc.) for a strong team and results-oriented deliveryExcellent oral and written communication skills – demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences including those at the senior leadership levelsSchedule flexibility is key to support the operational needs of the business; this role may operate on an adjusted schedule including weekends, overnights, early mornings, etc.NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKERA Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical degree is awesome, but not requiredEquivalent work experience is ideal, and please note: If you have a non-tech degree or some other training, with some serious tech experience, please apply; If you’re self-taught, intelligent, and extremely motivated, that works tooSeveral years of experience/knowledge of the Broadcast and Media Streaming industryStrong Understanding of Internet delivery-based content delivery at scale, in particular, CDN management and end-user QoS/QoE monitoringStrong understanding with video technologies such as video encoding/packaging and video/audio quality analysisNOTE: Fox Behavioral Skills/Competencies: Dependability, Initiative, Teamwork, Personal Integrity, Professionalism; Fox Leadership Skill/Competencies: Sets Clear Goals, Seeks Collaborative Solutions, Delivers Constructive Feedback, Leadership Integrity and Compliance.#Ll-DM1Learn more about Fox Tech at #foxtechWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
