- Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education.
- Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources, as needed.

- Assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions.

QualificationsEDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED1. Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
2. Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s).
3. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to providing patient care.
4. Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
5. De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; does not require maintaining.
6. Ongoing compliance with demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility.PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to read and write in English
2. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others.
3. Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
4. Ability to respond to pages
5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
6. Ability to repeatedly twist, squat and stoop.
7. Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling.
