- Position requires an operational knowledge of the following (along with CCT I requirements):
- Life support techniques and theory, electrocardiograms, airway support devices, peripheral line access devices, pressure waveforms, and cardiac output measurement.
- Physiologic monitoring devices and techniques.
- Sterile and aseptic technique.
- Medical terminology as attained through allied health or medical training, or completion of medical terminology course.
- Patient care procedures related to administration of anesthesia and care of the anesthetized patient.
- To interpret physiologic monitoring parameters during the application of these devices.
- All ancillary equipment used in the operative care of the anesthetized patient and performs all duties as outlined in the Departmental guideline manual and obtained through work experience.
- Requires competence to (along with CCT 1 requirements):
- Set up and operation of physiologic monitoring equipment as per departmental guidelines.
- Troubleshooting equipment failures
- Interpreting and communicating abnormal waveforms present on vital sign monitors and laboratory results
- Organizing and summarizing information
- Assists the physician or CRNA in the care and management of the anesthetized patient
- Anticipating physician needs during routine and emergency situations
