The Engineering Research Accelerator (ERA) reinforces the College’s efforts to expand our participation and influence in national and international research forums, which allows us to develop a stronger platform to share our insights and discoveries on emerging issues. These solutions have the potential to create economic value through new products that are useful, usable, and desirable in the marketplace.Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Engineering is hiring an Executive Assistant to join the accelerator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing direct support of the Associate Dean of Research (ADR) (75%) and the Chief Partnership Officer (CPO) (25%).Core responsibilities include:Acting as initial point of contact and the liaison for the ADR, CPO, and the Engineering Research Accelerator.Providing extensive calendar management, which includes ensuring that the ADR and CPO are well prepared for upcoming on/off campus meetings by providing agendas, itineraries, slides, directions, and any prepared materials prior to these meetings.Working with the ADR and CPO to ensure that any action items resulting from this meetings/travel are handled in a timely manner.Initiating agenda preparation, compiling data, taking and distributing meeting minutes, preparing expense reports, making travel arrangements, purchasing, handling the promotion and tenure process, and supporting initiatives and special projects undertaken by the Engineering Research Accelerator on behalf of the ADR.Assisting the Director of Research Initiatives with logistical and administrative support.Other duties as assigned.Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon.
