- Provides training, precepting, and orientation for staff who are new to the Cath Lab to allow them to work independently and take call independently.
- Interfaces with other departments such as the emergency department, operating room, ICU, etc. and troubleshoots issues as they arise.
- Functions as the lead/supervisor/charge each day in the Cath Lab.
- Covers in the Lab as needed for call offs, vacations, etc.
- Takes STEMI call to be a resource to newer staff for acute events.
- Assists with supply and equipment procurement and maintenance to make sure that the procedures can be performed in an optimal manner.
- Attends bed huddle and safety briefing as able to provide situational awareness and bring information back to the department.
- Provides backup for the cardiology manager when he/she is unavailable.
- Creates the monthly schedule and enters in the call schedule to the On-Call Scheduling System.
- Creates and revises policy to promote safety and quality.
- Participates in growth and marketing activities as able to continue the growth of the Lab.
- Supervises the Cath Lab nurses and techs – May also supervise the clinic RNs as needed to provide RN support.
- RN License required.
- BSN preferred.
- BLS Health Care Provider, ACLS.
- Proficiency in English, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Three years recent Cath lab experience required.
- Leadership experience preferred.
