- Verifying client identity and reviewing medical staff's orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
- Provide verbal and/or written instruction.
- Correctly position the client in positioning body parts to be radiographed, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
- Adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position.
- Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
- Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the client.
- Follow correct techniques and procedures such as client shielding .
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders or informing Clinic Manager.
- Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
- Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.
- Adhere to ethical standards of conduct as well as applicable state and federal laws.
- Login into the appropriate radiology site. Label exams accordingly.
- Match any completed reports with the appropriate chart and place in the appropriate area.
- At the end of each day, compare logs with Synapse to ensure all x-rays have been sent and highlighted.
- Wipe down all x-ray equipment and clean films.

- Proven experience as a Xray technician
- Taking x-rays of various body parts
- Ability to move or lift patients
