- Expertise and background with MTSS and PBIS, preferred
- Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute, onsite training available if necessary

- Ability to demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills and flexibility
- Strong counseling capabilities
- Proficient with assessment, data collection and evaluation processes
- Ability to participate and/or lead data-based decision making and problem solving at the building, grade and individual student level
- Ability to collaborate with all stakeholders within the educational community
- Knowledge of IDEA rules/regulations and Illinois procedural requirements
- Provide direct counseling support to students through pull out and push in services
- Provide consultation with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding difficulties with social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
- Review brief and complex functional behavior assessment process (FBA), as needed
- Interpretation of student data in the areas of social/emotional/behavioral
- Assist with paraprofessionals to meet the needs of students throughout the building
- Participate in, assist with, and/or manage student 504 evaluation and plans
- Participate in the evaluation process for Individual Education Plans.
- Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans when Social/Emotional Functioning has been identified.
- Provide social skills training to students
- Provide therapeutic intervention/counseling for students with social/emotional/behavioral needs
- Coordinate and facilitate professional development opportunities for school community during the school year and summer programming based on need.
- Resource and referral with community-based agencies
- Provide regular, scheduled support to the Structured Learning Program, Learning Opportunities Program, and Early Childhood programs based on school assignment
- Crisis management
- Help guide extended school year program in supporting the overall emotional, social, and behavioral needs of all students
