- Minimum of 10 years' experience as a journeyman plumber
- Must possess a valid California Driver license and participate in the DMV Employee Pull Notice program
- Orange County Backflow Certification.
- Working knowledge of current Uniform Plumbing Code, N.F.P.A. 99, N.F.P.A. 13, Title 19, N.F.P.A. 50, Title 24
- Ability to determine status of various fixtures, regulators, valves, controls and water heating tanks.
- Ability to safely and skillfully operate various tools and equipment of the plumbing trade as well as Oxyacetylene torches, soldering equipment, mechanical pipe threaders and cutters, hammers, and gas powered saws and grinders, along with power snake drain equipment.
- Working knowledge of safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Peers, subordinates, supervisors, administrators, customers, visitors and outside agencies.
- Skill in estimating material and labor requirement to accomplish task.
- Ability to lead or instruct semi-skilled or unskilled assistants.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand technical language in specifications, schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to troubleshoot piping systems for signs of damage or deterioration or need for adjustment.
- Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedule.
- Must be willing to work nights and or weekends.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
