Duties:
  • Carrying out Looked after Children reviews
  • Ensuring Child Protection procedures are adhered too
  • Working with cases in care proceedings
  • Undertaking risk assessments
  • Putting in place multi agency plans for children returning to their families
  • Devise multi agency child protection plans
  • Undertake direct work with children
  • Undertake Life story work with children to address emotional contact needs and to achieve permanency
  • Attending family group conferences
  • Keeping up to date case recordings
  • Report writing
  • Preparing reports and presenting them to panels
  • Undertaking Kinship assessments
  • Preparing Care Plans
  • Writing court reports and giving evidence in court
  • Meeting timescales in line with legislation
  • Carrying out core assessments
  • Planning and prioritising my case load
  • Completing statutory visits
  • Preparing pathway plans
Requirements of the Social Worker:
  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
