- Owning and developing key design elements in BSC's Interventional Heart Failure device portfolio.

- Applying sound engineering fundamentals to drive robust design decisions.
- Planning, executing, and analyzing critical experimentation and reviewing findings with the project team.
- Researching the latest materials and processing technology; using that knowledge to drive informed decisions.
- Evaluating product risks and implementing robust design controls.
- Providing clear and regular communication within your project workstream.
- Understanding the anatomy and clinical use cases to inform design decisions.
- Developing solutions from early concepts through design freeze and commercialization.
- Working directly with external vendors for materials, components, and processing as needed.
- Author clear and robust design specifications.
- Develop robust solutions to loosely defined problems.
- Develop new bench methods as necessary to assess device performance.
- Be a subject matter expert in your area of design ownership.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar
- Required minimum years of work experience (primarily in medical device or related field): 5+ Years with BS, 3+ Years with MS
- Experience in design analysis techniques
- Experience owning technical aspects of device design as a member of a cross-functional team
- Demonstrated ability to understand clinical application and translate to design features and requirements.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
- Good organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to own and organize complex engineering work.
- Experience with electromechanical systems
- Experience with precision bearing systems or similar technology
- Design principles related to medical device blood compatibility.
- Ability to research literature and apply learnings in direct and tangible ways
- Class II or Class III Medical Device product development experience
- Solid experimental design and statistical analysis knowledge
