- Lead Management in the evaluation and implementation of process improvements within the manufacturing facilities, engineering and support departments.
- Coach leadership in the use and implementation of Continuous Improvement principles.
- Work directly with Trade Management to identify specific problems, or opportunities that can be improved with the implementation of various aspects of Lean, Six Sigma, and other Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Solicit input from the workforce to identify opportunities within the shipyard that can be improved with the implementation of improvement methodologies, advanced tooling or technology.
- Lead, facilitate or oversee the implementation of identified improvement opportunities.
- Standardize procedures, systems, metrics and report structure to capture opportunities, implementation and results.
- Provide training to workforce as required.
- This position description is not all-inclusive. Employee will perform other tasks as assigned.
- BS in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or similar field preferred; or 5 years of process experience .
- At least 2 years of experience in identification and implementation of production improvements in shipbuilding or a similar manufacturing environment through the use of Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, or other process improvement methodology. Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred.
- Proficient in the use of standard office computer software including Microsoft windows and office components.
- Flexible to support all shifts as required to meet job duties.
- Result oriented with strong problem solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational / planning, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required.
- Professional, motivated and able to work proactively & autonomously.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.

- 18 years of age or older at time of application
- Able to provide proof of US Person Status
- No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
- No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
