Join us as our newest Director, Rentals and help change the world of real estate, one home at a time.The Director, Rentals Division provides strategic leadership, commercial success and resource stewardship for this key revenue and product line. This individual will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Analytics, Consumer Experience, Customer Success and other groups to drive improved Rentals experiences and performance for our consumers and rentals partners. As the commercial driver of the Zillow rentals partnership and P&L contributor of the Rentals business, they will drive cross-functional strategic and tactical decisions to grow revenue and improve profitability, working closely with other leaders on the Rentals Team to ensure that all our sales and marketing activities integrate effectively. They will also establish and drive operational metrics/KPIs and clear accountability on how to achieve those targets.What you'll do:Lead strategic and tactical decisions on growing and expanding the Rentals business in current and future market conditions (in close collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Analytics and Consumer and Customer Experience leaders)Drive commercial success of recently announced rentals partnership with ZillowDrive and manage Rentals P&L, including revenue generation, operating expenses and direct/indirect staffing levelsInterlock seamlessly with Product, Technology and Marketing to ensure alignment around shared revenue objectives and the plans and support needed to achieve them.Develop strategies to acquire rentals content to our platform and establish/maintain productive peer-to-peer relationships with key partners and prospects.Work with Finance to establish revenue forecasts and budgets that align with corporate goals and team performance capabilities.Establish operational metrics/KPIs and clear accountability on how the team will achieve those targets (e.g., lead submission rate and consumer engagement across every Rentals channel)How we workWe balance creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration. For most roles, our employees work three or more days in our offices, where they have the opportunity to collaborate in-person, adding richness to our culture and knitting us closer together.Organizational AlignmentReports to the VP of Rentals & New HomesP&L driver of rentals business linePeer colleague to Product, Engineering, Marketing, Analytics and other senior functional headsProvide indirect leadership to core support functions including Operations, Finance and Human ResourcesWhat you'll bring:Four year college degree from an accredited institution, and a Masters in Business Administration or experience equivalent is preferred but not required.Minimum of 7 years of business operations/analytics/marketing experienceP&L ownership experience in a consumer marketplace preferably in residential real estate.Proven execution capabilities through working collaboratively across departmentsExpertise in leveraging data to support decisions and drive alignment.Success balancing the desire/need for broad change with an understanding of how much change the organization is capable of handling, to create realistic goals and implementation expectations.Ability to set clear and challenging goals while committing the organization to improved performance; tenacious and accountable in driving results.Experience successfully building highly engaged teams, acting as mentor/coach to motivate a team, and holding the team accountable for results.Solid management skills with the ability to influence and champion initiatives through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus buildingPassion for developing and managing to key metrics, using those analytics to guide best practices for the organizationStrong attention to detail and superior organizational skillsStrong interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsHigh level of responsibility, ownership and sense of urgency/getting things doneAbility to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented and team-oriented environmentStrong computer skills, especially with Google Sheets and Google SlidesExperience working in rentals, digital media, residential real estate, lending or other related industry
