We are currently seeking candidates who are up for the challenge of operating in a high-growth, purpose-driven organization.Job DescriptionThe Associate Production Scientist is an entry level role and will manufacture competent cells for the Company’s various product lines. The position may expand to also support manufacture of additional product lines and development of new products, applications and businesses.This position is regularly based out of the company's site in Middleton, WI, with standard hours of operation Monday-Friday (8am-5pm).Job Duties:
Contribute to operations teams performing manufacturing, quality control, distribution, materials management, and maintenance activities in a manner consistent with LGC-Lucigen’s ISO 13485 quality systems.
Manufacturing of both electrocompetent and chemically competent cells.
In accordance with designated procedures and work instructions, prepare and perform QC on completed competent cell batches.
Dispense, fill and package products under supervisor’s guidance following SOP’s and written instructions that meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Support and follow competent cell protocols geared towards robust and cost-effective production of the products.
QualificationsQualifications:
Associate/Bachelor's degree in relevant life sciences field (molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, etc.) is preferred, High School diploma or equivalent degree (GED) is required.
0-2 or more years of experience in a lab setting directly working with biological or lab material is required. New Grads are encouraged to apply.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency operating standard laboratory equipment (e.g. Incubators, laminar flow hoods, pipettes) is required.
Ability to work and collaborate with functional peer groups, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Product Dispensing, and Warehousing, outside of immediate production team.
Ability to become adept at the development and implementation of new technologies and technical processes that improve the quality, efficiency, and/or productivity of products and/or laboratory services.
First-hand experience with molecular biology techniques is preferred.
Experience with Cell Cultures is preferred.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency with aseptic technique is preferred.
Industry experience in pharma, biotech or medical device, particularly within an ISO-certified quality environment is preferred.
