We are on the forefront of the ever-expanding mission critical materials testing, where your contributions will not only propel us into the cosmos but also drive advancements in airplane development, submarine building, and nuclear safety.We have a wonderful opportunity for a Sales Representative to drive sales growth of testing services offered at Laboratory Testing Inc. acting as the primary point of contact specifically to Chemical Analysis, Corrosion and Powder Characterization. This role requires managing outside and inside sales tasks, focusing on new & existing customer relationships while broadening presence in aerospace, space, defense, medical device, oil & gas, and nuclear markets that demand high-quality, 3rd party testing services.The customer base consists of raw material mills, metal powder producers, OEM’s, Casters, Forgers, Precision Machining, Additive Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturing, Heat Treaters and Fabrication companies.The representative will collaborate closely with the Chemistry and Sales Management Team to pinpoint and capitalize on growth opportunities within our existing customer base and to cultivate new business leads. Local travel is required amounting to approximately 25% of work time, with a significant emphasis on achieving customer satisfaction and ensuring client retention.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish new business by planning and organizing daily activities to call on existing customers and prospects within our Customer Relationship Management system. (CRM)
  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline and management reports in LTI CRM program (Hubspot).
  • Customer calls, visits, and call-reports.
  • Leads, Opportunities, and Proposals.
  • Wins and Losses.
  • Customer complaints.
  • Quoting within LTI ERP system (Infor-CSI)
  • Build all quotes within ERP system and send directly to the customer or prospect.
  • Routinely follow up on all open quotes for feedback and document in CRM.
  • Work with Sales Management on negotiations, offering competitive solutions.
  • Develop and execute quoting efficiencies.
  • Order Management & Meeting Customer Expectations
  • Open order management ensuring customers’ expectations are met.
  • Clearly communicate all customers’ expectations to Order Entry and Operations to ensure proper order fulfillment.
  • Learn, understand, and apply technical requirements associated with each discipline.
  • Routinely participate in training to stay abreast on all job-related testing services.
  • Understand each job-related testing service and industry standards such as ASTM, ISO, MIL-STD.
  • Relate to customer requirements, applying the correct testing service.
  • Comfortable making cold calls with new customers and following up quote activity for work that was not awarded.
  • Lead the presentation of proposals to customers.
  • Assist in the on-boarding process of new customers.
  • Attends industry association meetings, seminars, and workshops to network with customers as needed.
  • Responsible to provide reports to Management about trends within the Chemistry community, customer base, etc.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery, etc. through day-to-day interactions.
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential customers.
  • Works with the Sales Manager & Marketing Department to make sure website, literature sheets, presentations, and messaging are in line with Chemistry, Corrosion & Powder Characterization Sales Strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) from four-year college or university, or minimum of four years of related experience in technical B2B sales, or technical experience working in a field environment where customer relations were being developed.
  • Strong Communicator.
  • Background in metals and manufacturing or similar field, with an understanding of chemical analysis and material testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and proprietary customer requirements.
  • Strong background in Chemistry is an advantage.
  • Experience in B2B sales, particularly in industries related to material testing or chemical analysis such as Aerospace, Additive, Defense, Medical, etc.
  • Computer skills required: (Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Customer Relationship Management Systems, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word).
  • Willing to travel up to 25 percent of the time (local travel).
  • Strong oral and written communication skillset.
  • Must be organized and results driven.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities that require completion.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams.
