Responsibilities
- Review and analyze weekly financial reporting; accounts receivable, underbilling, gross margin and working capital index.
- Assist in analyzing work progress by calculating/preparing various comparison reports.
- Assist in monitoring progress of work per cost accounting adherence with budget
- Job Set-up – become proficient in the set-up of all job types in H&M Systems
- Payroll entry – receive and sort timesheets; work with project manager or workman on irregularities; Sent to Payroll department upon verification. Understand diff Union classifications and rates, review summary reports for appropriate application.
- Billing to clients – verify billing units are consistent with work authorization/contract; input and submit billing to customer in required format; work with customer to resolve any billing issues; follow-up on invoice aging.
- Commit Costs in order to ensure control environment of Project Purchasing and matching of cost with project revenue
- Collection of data required to monitor project budget and progress/ Weekly review of project & unit-based reports, investigate discrepancies, communicate to PM and resolve reporting inaccuracies.
- Attend weekly meetings which review area Project financial performance, be able to clearly contribute and explain reporting challenges and irregularities
- Coordinate and administer routine contract work using standardized and prescribed methods
- Ensure compliance with customer contract terms and conditions
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and administrative guidelines and ensure the financial integrity of project reporting
- Work to maintain a paperless environment uploading customer related contracts, invoices and related documents to JD Edwards System.
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 - 5 years of related experience in accounting, contract administration or project management; may substitute 4 - 5 years of experience in accounting, contract administration or project management for college degree.
- Construction background/knowledge preferred.
- Supervisory and Customer Service experience preferred.
- Understanding of financial tools and ability to master Henkels & McCoy in-house accounting systems (WOS, PENTA).
- Ability to travel (and/or work on-site assignment) depending on the project complexity.
- Prefer knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for construction companies.
- Computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office software is required.
