An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a substantive burns and plastic surgeon within the highly renowned Manchester Burns and Plastic Surgery Service based at Wythenshawe Hospital (adult burns), Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital (paediatric burns)and the Manchester Royal Infirmary (Orthoplastics)This role would suit a CCT-holder with interests in Orthoplastics with additional interests in areas such as major trauma / lower limb reconstruction, paediatric plastic surgery or skin cancer would be welcomed. Qualifications and Training
Essential
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Full GMC Registration. Recent experience in Orthoplastic care
  • experience in orthoplastics / lower limb recon
  • Completion of Orthoplastic Fellowship (TIG or equivalent training)
Desirable
  • Entry on the specialist register for plastic surgery (or entry expected within the year or demonstration of progression towards CESR)
Clinical Experience:
Essential
  • Comprehensive clinical experience in plastic surgery.
  • Experience in the full range of Plastics, microsurgery and trauma.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
  • Ability to work as an effective member of the wider Plastic surgery team
  • Operative experience in line with requirements of Indicative Logbook for Plastic Surgery
Desirable
  • Evidence of developing and maintaining a multidisciplinary team.
  • Evidence of clinical audit relevant to improving care of plastic patients
Teaching

  • Experience of undergraduate teaching and post graduate training.
  • Experience of supervising core surgical and specialty trainees or equivalent.
