ReportingReports to the franchise owner/manager or designee and to client supervisors and managers.Education1. Has completed State of Illinois Professional Educator curriculum endorsed for Paraprofessional’s.2. Obtained an associate degree (or higher) at a regionally accredited institution of higher education or equivalent to obtain a license.LicensurePossess a valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed for Paraprofessional.Experience***Must have at least 6 months of experience working with special needs children-students with medical/developmental disabilities.Credentials1. Background screening as required by the client.2. CPR from the American Heart Association or equivalent.3. Hepatitis B Statement or Declination [OSHA 29 CFR, 1910.1030(f)(2)].4. Tuberculosis screening test.5. Physical exam.6. Drug screening as required by the client contract.Environmental Working Conditions1. Work sites vary.2. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.3. The physical demands are representative of those that may be required by an employee to successfully perform the representative duties and responsibilities of the jobRepresentative Duties and Responsibilities1. Complies with ATC Healthcare Services policies and procedures.2. Complies with client policies and procedures.3. Provides instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students.4. Assists teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class.5. Helps with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.6. Supervises students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and/or during before and after school programs.7. Attends to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.8. Supports students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans.9. Communicates in writing or verbally with parents/guardians per school protocols.10.
