  • Carry out classic and/or instrumental chemical analyzes necessary to process the request including specific sample preparation
  • Coordinate the need for analysis under the guidance of Senior QC and in collaboration with the QC Team in order to provide accurate analyzes within the required timescales linked to specific Customer, Production, Research and Development requests.
  • Collect, process and interpret the data coming from the analyses
  • Prepare specific accurate and complete reports regarding the analyzes carried out and compile any specific files linked to specific Customers.
  • Manage the calibrations and maintenance of the analysis instruments also by communicating directly with any external companies
  • If necessary, communicate directly with other departments and possibly with Customers and other Kerry sites
  • Study and create new analysis methodologies in order to maximize the potential of the tools and meet specific customer needs, possibly also in collaboration with the Site Analysis Team.
  • Create procedures and protocols descriptive of the instrumental methodologies used
  • Carry out specific validations of the methodologies used
What do I need in order to be successful?
  • Degree in Chemistry or equivalent culture
  • At least 2 years of experience in analytical laboratories using the techniques reported
  • Experience in the quality department in food companies
  • Knowledge of chromatography techniques and interpretation of the results obtained
  • Knowledge of analysis tools and related database management and use software, in particular:
  • Gas Chromatograph - Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS)
  • High pressure or high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
  • Knowledge of the creation and application of natural and artificial flavors, their composition, description, solubility, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics
  • Chemical culture on the structure of molecules and their characteristics (solubility in solvents, etc)
  • Knowledge of the variables that influence food processes
