- Collaborate with the design team to develop seasonal concepts and themes.
- Assist with editing garment styles and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in PLM system.
- Add color seasonally to garments and BOMs in PLM systems.
- Support Design team in daily tasks and act as backup/support to the designers in updating tasks in the PLM system.
- Conduct research on fabric, trims and color trends.
- Assist in sourcing and selecting materials for samples and production and follow up with materials team on those developments.
- Assist Design team in compiling, organizing and preparing presentation materials for meetings.
- Prepare technical drawings/tech packs and specifications for manufacturing and continue to update throughout season.
- Participate in fittings and provide feedback on garment fit and construction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor analysis and consumer preferences.
- Organize, label and maintain design garment samples and manage sample availability for meetings.
- Ensure support tasks are completed in accordance with critical path calendar dates.
- Schedule garment concept approval virtual meetings and assist in documentation and tech pack creation for meetings.
- Attend various department support meetings and product fittings.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to collaborate, build and grow businesses.
- Assist in creating, presenting and updating seasonal roadmaps.
- Balance multiple seasons at once and prioritize workloads according to calendars and seasonal timelines.
- Assist in creating color references and kits for artwork, set up artwork in PLM system and assist in managing and commenting on strike-off approvals.
- Assist in set up and creation of supporting materials for account and internal presentations.
- Work on various projects as needed.
- Ability to travel between offices seasonally, if needed.
- 3-5 years of apparel design experience, with knowledge of fabrics and trims and an understanding of the design process.
- Bachelor’s degree in design or related field required.
- Previous design and/or product development experience a plus.
- Ability to illustrate and flat sketch.
- Basic knowledge of garment construction and fabrics.
- Exposure to developing presentation boards a plus.
- Excellent organization, follow-through, detail orientation, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to prioritize own work schedule and communicate roadblocks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
