We are recruiting for the following position:Sea Mar is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine organizationProject Support Coordinator: Posting #26210Hourly Rate: $20.00Position Summary:Part time/temporary Project Support Coordinator position available for our Migrant & Seasonal Agricultural Workers (MSAW) Program in Mount Vernon, WA. The person in this position will oversee the Promotores Program activities. The primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of Promotores in Whatcom and Skagit Counties; program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation; working with various Sea Mar departments for the integration of services; and collaborating with local service providers and key community members to implement the program. In addition, the Coordinator will be required to attend Sea Mar community events such as Fiestas Patrias, Winter Holiday Event, Semana Binacional de Salud, and other organization-sponsored fairs and activities. This is not a full comprehensive list of Duties/Responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.Conditions of Employment:Applicant must have a valid Washington State driver license and have regular access to an insured vehicle. Reliable transportation is necessary. The work takes place in migrant farmworker camps in Whatcom and Skagit Counties as well as at Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Bellingham and Mt. Vernon. Considerable amounts of driving are necessary as the camps are frequently far apart. Pre-season training with other Program Coordinators may involve further travel.The applicant must comply with all ethical standards of Sea Mar as required by DOH. The person in this position shall have no history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three (3) years immediately prior to the date of employment at the facility, and no misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed at this center. Must have experience in developing program protocols, curricula, and materials. CPR First Aid Certification required for this position.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Spanish speaking required, English and some other native language of Mexico or Guatemala are desirable.
  • Knowledge of the local agricultural community and its needs.
  • Verbal and written skills are essential for conducting workshops and addressing community member's concerns.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Teaching, advocating, and capacity building skills.
  • Creative with initiatives on how to reach the audience effectively.
Education and/or Experience:Must have a degree in health education, public health, social work, community nursing, or equivalent life experience. Success in cross-cultural work, including the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and values). Should be familiar with community leaders. Additionally, be able to “connect” with migrant and seasonal farmworkers and other community individuals. Must have a commitment to agency’s philosophy and mission.
