Description :PurposeThe Development Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting strategic fundraising initiatives and cultivating relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders. This role is responsible for executing fundraising campaigns, events, and activities. This includes, but is not limited to, managing administration of corporate sponsorships, event logistics, and fundraising communications. This role is also responsible for administrative duties such as database management, tracking, and reporting as related to fundraising activities and donor cultivation. Reporting to the Chief Community Engagement Officer as part of a broader team focused on developing financial resources, the Development Coordinator ensures the effective implementation of the foundation’s activities with an eye toward process improvement. This role will also provide administrative assistance to the Chief of Community Engagement.   • Coordinate fundraising campaigns and events, including managing event budgets, logistics, outreach, volunteers, and follow-up.
  • Prepare fundraising materials including newsletters, mailers, appeal letters, grant proposals, and sponsorship packages.
  • Assist in coordinating community engagement initiatives and partnerships. Occasionally recruit and cultivate corporate sponsors.
  • Negotiate contracts with event vendors and assist with production of fundraising and other community events to raise awareness of Neighborcare Health.
  • Assist in the implementation of fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals.
  • Work with Development team to plan and implement the fundraising and development plan. Understand fundraising strategies and annual goals. Provide insight on how available data can track progress toward goals. Set up related systems to track progress toward goals.
Administrative Support
  • Support fundraising and public relations events, including presence at events as needed and organizing or managing registration.
  • Coordinate meetings, retreats and special functions; coordinate facilities, meals and other arrangements; compile and prepare required work materials.
  • Provide general administrative support; compose correspondence, minutes and reports. Establish, organize and maintain files and records. Prepare materials for meetings; compose and assemble agenda items; communicate meeting information to staff.
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief of Community Engagement, including managing schedules, arranging meetings, and preparing materials.
  • Maintain inventory, supplies, prepare and manage invoices.
  • Update Neighborcare Health internet site, including some technical work in resizing photos.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to fundraising and nonprofit management.
Donor Systems Support
  • Collaborate with team members to research prospective donors and funding sources to expand the organization's donor base.
  • Maintain and manage reconciliation of donations with accounting.
  • Maintain and manage the development databases, including data entry, gift entry, prepare regular and special reports, mailing lists, and donor acknowledgement letters.
  • Prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence for donors in a timely manner.
  • Assist in tracking fundraising metrics and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop policies and procedures for Razor’s Edge database use with the support of the Development team. Participate in the development of other development policies/procedures.
  • Provide support for special projects and initiatives, including research, data analysis, and report preparation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of fundraising and promotional event practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Community Centric fundraising.
  • Knowledge and experience in using social networking tools for promotions.
  • Ability to develop positive and effective working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external contacts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact to diverse audiences.
  • Skills in time management and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work resourcefully in an independent working environment.
  • Experience with Raisers Edge or other donor database preferred.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of personal computers including MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Teams.
  • Skill and ability to demonstrate professional business etiquette.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance; report to work on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance.
  • Ability to work in partnership in a team-oriented workplace.
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational skills, including the ability to set up and maintain organized and efficient office systems.
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPPA/Confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand the fund development process and to work with other staff members to further Neighborcare’s goals within the process.
  • Ability to understand and make a commitment to Neighborcare’s mission and values and positively represent Neighborcare’s work and goals to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Interest in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion work and how it relates to fundraising practices.
Requirements for this role:
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with proof of automobile insurance.
Preferred for this role:
  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in the humanities, or a related field.
  • 2-years experience in marketing or fundraising, and fundraising events

  • The wage range for this position is minimum $53,444.00 up to $70,869.72 maximum.
  • Compensation will be determined based on years of relevant experience.
