- Lead initiatives to craft functional and site strategy (short- and mid-term horizon)
- Ensure alignment between Amgen manufacturing and supply chain strategy elements
- Drive progress toward the future ANC vision/site master plan and influence site direction, support scenario assessment, and drive business performance optimization
- Partner closely with the global supply chain planning teams, procurement, manufacturing services, and plant management
- Establish clear planning standards, supervise demand changes and trends, and develop production plans and ensure a reliable plan for DS supply to network DP partner and contract manufacturing sites
- Establish and optimize planning standards that articulate the run rate, plant changeover, and product re-introduction capabilities as well as plant shutdown duration and frequency
- Ensure understanding of plant capabilities and capacity planning tools
- Develop scenarios to continually optimize plant output and handle DS inventories within warehouse capacity targets (in partnership with Warehouse Operations team)
- Stay informed on emerging trends and continually evolve the way we work by adopting digital and technology solutions
- Develop action plans to implement solutions aligned with the ANC site and functional Supply Chain strategy and partner with the SCLT to complete large, cross-functional, or cross-site initiatives
- Champion a culture that prioritizes 1) safety, 2) compliance and quality, 3) ensures the organization optimally delivers upon its commitments, and 4) strives to continuously improve
- Serve as a role model for ‘on the floor’ engagement and active caring with a hybrid onsite / virtual team, strongly demonstrating the Amgen Leadership Attributes and Values. Lead and support Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DI&B) initiatives to ensure an engaged, supported workforce
- Maintain GMP controlled processes, procedures, and systems in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Ensure that the Production Planning team is maintained in a continual state of inspection readiness and represent the Supply Chain GMP processes to Regulatory Authorities during inspections
- Build a robust talent pipeline with diverse capabilities required to thrive in the present and future and partner with HR to recruit, mentor, develop, empower, and retain staff
- Ensure an ongoing organizational structure capable of adapting to evolving business needs
- Establish technical training, leadership training, and cross-training plans to continually develop staff and partner with staff to establish robust long-term development plans and build robust succession plans
- Establish and be an excellent partner with Global Supply Chain, External Supply Chain, External Quality, OSPR, and all Amgen Sites
- Partner with the network to advance learning and collective performance and influence direction and align standard processes and ensure consistency within the network
- High School diploma/GED and 12 years of Supply Chain and/or Operations experience OR
- Associate’s degree and 10 years of Supply Chain and/or Operations experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Supply Chain and/or Operations experience OR
- Master’s degree and 6 years of Supply Chain and/or Operations experience OR
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of Supply Chain and/or Operations experience
- Expertise in Regulated, GMP pharmaceutical operations and supply chain business processes
- GMP competence and ability to represent Supply Chain business processes during regulatory inspections
- Knowledge of other operational areas such as Manufacturing, QC/QA, Warehouse Operations, Procurement
- Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM/ APICS) certification
- Continuous improvement mentality
- Knowledge of SAP and Rapid Response for production and scenario planning
- Experience in Material, Production, and Planning Master Data
- Clear communication and presentation skills both within and outside operations functions
- Ability to lead and develop impactful teams
- Analytical and problem-solving skills including data and analytics competence
- Accountability and autonomy; financial and business astuteness; project management skills
- Cross-functional manufacturing experience (supply / capacity planning, manufacturing, quality)
- Proficient user of software applications (Smartsheet, Tableau, Miro)
- Ability to influence broadly and to communicate effectively at different management levels
- Negotiating, Budgeting, Goal setting, Resource Planning and Decision-Making skills
