OFF SHIFT PROCESS ENGINEER - ADRIAN, MICHIGANA Leading Automotive Supplier in the Adrian, Michigan area needs an Off Shift Process Engineer. The Working Hours are approximately 6 P.M. to 6 A.M. with a Rotating Working Schedule.This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.RESPONSIBILITIES:Modify PLC, MMI Robotics, Drive-Programs for new projects and program modifications to existing machinery.
Will participate in development and control of equipment standard.
Makes robot, weld-controller and network modifications for our machinery.
Take equipment from concept to installation for new programs and/or change to existing programs as a result of engineering changes.
Develops information for purchasing department so procurement can be done efficiently.
Creates training material for operators and maintenance personal for developed machinery.
Liaise with vendors and monitor progress through quotation, design, build and installation of all new equipment necessary for new programs.
Utilize the experience and expertise of cross-functional team members to ensure equipment meets all cost, quality, reliability and productivity requirements.
Present recommendation summary to Corporate Manufacturing Engineering Manager for final approval.
Coordinate all equipment sample runs at both vendor and in-house locations.
Makes or oversees startup of our equipment from the electrical side.
Any other reasonable request made by management.
Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5-S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Minimum 7 years experience in the automotive industry with exposure to building equipment, programmable logic control, electrical, robotics, etc.
Sound understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and IATF 16949/ISO 14001 requirements
Working knowledge of Advanced Quality Planning processes
Sound understanding of laser and IATF 16949/ISO 14001 requirements
Working knowledge of processes
Computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, CAD key
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Effective problem solving and decision making skills
Ability to handle multi-tasks and changing priorities
Works well in a team environment
Effective presentation skills
Excellent analytical skills and exercises sound judgement
