In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to build, enhance, and maintain an ad products platform for our large two-sided freelancer marketplace. Leveraging your extensive knowledge in building ads and monetization platforms, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our advertising and revenue initiatives while providing an exceptional user experience for both our freelancers and clients.Your Responsibilities:You will help define and drive the execution of Upwork's ads and monetization strategy, causally improving client and freelancer outcomes while maximizing revenue growth.Develop and maintain a product roadmap, prioritizing features that address our customers' needs while fulfilling Upwork's strategic business objectives.Communicate product vision and ensure alignment between stakeholders, adjacent product teams, and leadership.Establish and track key success metrics, analyzing data to identify trends and inform decisions.Work closely with your engineering lead counterparts to establish a clear vision of the future of our advertising tech stack.Partner with analytics, economics, and user research to design quantitative tests and elicit qualitative feedback.Collaborate with customer support to develop product documentation and community announcements.Partner closely with product marketing and bring a point of view to positioning our products in the marketplace.While this is an Individual Contributor role, we are looking for a leader who will mentor, guide, and direct other product managers to ensure their success and growth.What it takes to catch our eye:7+ years of product management experience in the advertising technology sector, with a proven track record of launching and scaling successful advertising products.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and identify actionable insights.Deep understanding of comprehensive advertising tools for creating, managing, and analyzing advertising campaigns (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager or similar products).Strong technical understanding of advertising technology stack, including programmatic advertising, ad serving technology, audience targeting, and measurement.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.A passion for creating economic opportunities for people around the world.Prior experience in a two-sided marketplace or a similar platform-based business is not necessary but a plus.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyCome change how the world works.At Upwork, you'll shape talent solutions for how the world works today. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
