Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a highly reputable and growing commercial contractor to recruit a Purchasing Agent.Position Summary:This is a newly created position within the purchasing team and the Purchasing Manager is seeking a self-starting purchasing agent to procure materials and supplies ensuring quality, price and timeliness required by the Company to operate quickly and efficiently.Responsibilities:
  • Creating a network of sources with multiple vendors, ensuring the Company is purchasing products from the best sources possible pertaining to quality, price, timeliness, and customer specifications.
  • Reviewing purchasing requests from various branches and departments, while executing and insuring purchase orders are set up in the system under the budgets, and time frames set per job/purchase.
  • Looking for and receiving quotes for products from the supplier network as needed ensuring customer’s specifications are met while maintaining a quote log to execute purchase orders as received by the customer.
  • Tracking delivery orders, ensuring timely delivery and expediting orders and following up with supplies as needed.
  • Interacting closely with Branch Managers, Project Managers, Designers and field personnel ensuring customer satisfaction and jobs are costed out properly through purchase orders, manual stock sheets or price books.
  • Maintaining inventory control consistent with budgets set by the Company while administering warehouse procedures.
  • Processing timely labor claims and credits.
  • Ensuring shipping and receiving process as it relates to material purchases.
  • Processing invoices, ensuring the Company is receiving the right price and the materials and/or services were received.
  • May supervise shop personnel pertaining to material inventory, shipping and receiving.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree is required, BS is preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience in purchasing, preferably within manufacturing or construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and utilizing various software and programs.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as taxes, discounts, etc.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
