To find out more about us, click on the link:The Work You Will Do:The OPS Research Assistant is a member of the Labor Market Statistics team of the Division of Workforce Services.This position is critical to meeting contract deliverables with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and provides occupational employment and wage data for the state and substate areas.This position involves work collecting employment and wage data for use in the preparation of occupational employment and wage estimates for the State of Florida.Associate interacts daily by phone with employers to collect employment and wage data or to conduct follow-ups. Contacts employers or private individuals by phone, email, and/or fax. Delivers prepared call script to persuade non-responsive businesses to provide employment and wage data. Completes records of telephonic interactions, schedule numbers and other related employment data.Describes employment and wage data requirements and procedures based on Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics standards. Recognizes and overcomes refusals and non-responses. Calls non-respondents to collect data for missing units and employment to achieve the highest response rate for the assigned survey units and the employment the units represented.No leadership responsibilities.The Difference You Will Make:This position is part of a team that produces the most detailed occupational employment and wage data for the State. These data are used to determine average employment and wages which are used by Florida Commerce leadership, workforce and economic development agencies, employers, and educational institutions.Florida Commerce is a fast-paced work environment in which critical thinking and prioritizing are a must.How You Will Grow:This position will collect and analyze data and use software tools that will allow you to seek promotional opportunities in the Bureau.In addition to hands-on training and Bureau-Wide training you will use your skill and insight to produce the highest quality data for our stakeholders. - Experience in call center/high volume calling.
- One year of experience in data collection or analysis.
- One year of customer service experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Creole.
- Seeking a part time position, 25 hours per week.
