Posting Type LIAbout The RoleWe are looking for a Senior Lawyer - Ethics and Compliance to join Kerry's Global Ethics & Compliance Team to support the global/group Ethics and Compliance Programme. The roles primary focus is to provide support and advice to Kerry's operational and global business support functions on all areas relating to Kerry's Ethics & Compliance Program.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a new team and establish best practices across the Ethics and Compliance Program.Kerry operates a Hybrid working policy, candidates will be required to work from our offices in Naas or Tralee each week.Key Individual Accountabilities
- Provide day-to-day input and support to the Global Ethics & Compliance Program which includes Speak Up, Sanctions and Export Controls, Competition Law, Human Rights and Sustainability, Anti-bribery and Corruption, Anti-fraud, Anti money Laundering, Responsible Political Engagement, Gifts and Entertainment and Conflicts of Interest.
- Assist the Business Integrity Director in coordinating the Business Integrity Working Group and provide input and support to the coordination of the Business Integrity Committee.
- Lead day-to-day management of Kerry's global Speak Up /whistle-blower process, coordinating investigation best practices and procedures across group stakeholders and preparation of associated Board reporting. Conduct, and coordinate internal investigations as directed by Kerry GC.
- Develop and implement tools/programming/training/communications that promote a culture of ethics and compliance that ensures that employees speak up about concerns and have a strong understanding of the Ethics and Compliance Program.
- Develop and deliver training to educate employees on a broad range of ethics and compliance topics. Develop innovative approaches to training to encourage employee engagement.
- Manage Kerry's conflicts of interest disclosure process, including assessment of disclosure and implementing appropriate actions.
- Build and manage Kerry's third-party due diligence framework covering Ethics and Compliance matters. Support business teams and assist in issue resolution.
- Develop and lead on standard compliance language for contracts and provide advice and act as escalation point for all business streams on contractual matters as they relate to Ethics and Compliance.
- Manage Kerry's core Ethics and Compliance codes & policies, and content development for associated training.
- Support Kerry's acquisition team on ethics and compliance diligence and risk areas.
- Leading / supporting a broad range of other corporate compliance areas, as required by Kerry's business.
- Provide day-to-day proactive ethics and compliance advice; identify creative and compliant solutions to achieve business goals and strategies.
- Monitor legal developments, enforcement, and compliance requirement trends.
- Ensure that the right processes/ systems/technologies are in place to assist in efficient compliance, monitor compliance and gather insights on compliance risk.
- Work with regional legal counsel to establish co-ordinated Ways of Working in relation to Ethics & Compliance matters.
- Support agreed Legal ways of working.
- Promote the Business Integrity brand @Kerry.
- Promote best practice in this space.
- Strong relevant legal post qualification experience
- Internal investigations/corporate compliance experience preferred.
- Experience of advising on high-risk legal compliance issues and communicating with clients and regulatory agencies regarding these issues a distinct advantage.
- Track record of advising on management teams and business streams on the implementation of legal and regulatory requirements throughout an organisation
- Excellent command of verbal and written English and overall excellent communication skills.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work across several multinational jurisdictions and to collaborate across geographies and functions.
- Ability to close out team tasks and projects efficiently and decisively.
- Self-driven, organised and focused with a strong work ethic.
