- Provide month end reporting and analysis for the News and Current Affairs Departments including Today Show, A Current Affair, Today Extra, and Sixty Minutes – liaising with the Executive Producers and Unit Managers for these productions.
- Analyse monthly expenses, variance analysis
- ensuring budget alignment and identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Present to Department Managers / Executive Producers actuals and forecast position to identify any financial concerns, suggest improvements and implement agreed changes on a regular basis.
- Identify areas for improvement & strategies to streamline processes & business requirements within News and Current Affairs.
- Be responsible for the financial statements of the LA & London Bureaus. Provide the month end review of the London and LA Bureau trial balance and communicate, review, advise and process the month end accounts.
- Preparation and/or guidance in the News and Current Affairs staff approval paperwork process, liaising with People and Culture, and ensuring compliance against the relevant award.
- Develop precise annual departmental bottom up budgets, covering all essential costs along with identifying areas of efficiency
- Build strong relationships with key News and Current Affair genre team members including News Directors, Executive Producers, Unit Managers, and key senior producers.
- Foster a culture of improvement and collaboration within the finance team.
- Ensure strict compliance with control frameworks and adapt to evolving standards.
- Mentor the Management Accountant – News and Current Affairs, providing training and guidance.
- Other duties as reasonably required.
- Qualified Accountant (CA or CPA)
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong communication skills; clear, timely, and consistent
