Harmony Books and Rodale Books publish top-quality nonfiction by thought leaders, distinguished authorities, credentialed experts, and important voices seeking to reshape the cultural conversation and visionary as well as practical nonfiction that helps and inspires people to improve their lives.We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Publishing Associate who will support the Deputy Publisher on all aspects of the publishing program. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a diverse set of publishing responsibilities and adapt to different work styles. Ability to re-prioritize projects based on sales and publishing needs. The candidate should also have an interest in nonfiction books in the categories in which we publish and will be creative, curious, collaborative, and have a sense of humor.Please apply by the due date of May 3, 2024 and include your resume.Responsibilities:Provide administrative support, such as tracking deadlines, organizing and scheduling meetings, and tracking projectsManage the seasonal span process and provide support materials for span meetingsTrack and alert the team to various deadlines for seasonal spansProvide follow-up materials and communication to sales marketing team in relation to seasonal spansResearch and create detailed sales reporting and analyze data to help inform seasonal publishing decisions; provide individual title sales and laydown information, author sales history as needed; and moreResearch and report on inventory needs, backlist pacing, sales spikes and inventoryUpdate and manage yearly editorial/inventory planning gridsSchedule department meetings, coordinate meeting agendas, gather meeting materials, and take minutesHandle special projects to support the overall efforts of both imprintsImprint-wide communicationDistilling and reporting on latest corporate trend and sales analysis for teamAnalyze competitive title reports and seasonal catalogs of competitors to identify opportunitiesCreate sales support materials as neededTechnical skills required:Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Adobe AcrobatPowerBI (basic)Performance skills required:Attention to detailDiscretion regarding confidential materialsOrganizational skillsEffective interpersonal communication skillsResourcefulnessAbility to prioritizeAbility to work both independently and as a member of a teamFor any questions you may have, please refer to our FAQ page .The salary for this position is $53,000.
