- Analyze, aggregate, and act on qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources (e.g., A/B testing, website analytics, client feedback), as well as best practices in web and user-centered design, to inform content strategy.
- Collaborate with a dynamic team of internal and external web, social, digital, and other multimedia content specialists, translators, external content developers, and the client to plan, develop, coordinate implementation, and maintain tailored content strategies over medium- and long-term project initiatives that that optimize the user experience.
- Support content creators to develop, refine, and execute content plans that incorporate content-focused user research to drive SEO, enhance accessibility, streamline user experience, and maximize use of client resources.
- Develop, implement, review, and update brand guidelines for content that align with the client’s desired tone, voice, and editorial style.
- Oversee and assist with auditing and quality assurance processes for all website content (e.g., web articles, e-books, e-blasts, social media content, video transcripts), moving it through the pipeline in a timely manner.
- Serve as arbiter of best practices in use of headlines, keywords, tags, subheads, and other content elements, as well as grammar, messaging, writing, and style, taking into consideration the client’s style mandates and preferences and advise on the removal of outdated or unnecessary content.
- Lead client workshops to develop and execute a content strategy roadmap (use of an inclusive, iterative approach as well as a collaborative whiteboarding software such as Mural is strongly preferred in facilitating these workshops).
- Support JBS business development efforts including work on proposals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Our ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree and at least 5 years of experience in the above functions; a history of handling content related to early childhood learning and well-being; a degree in content strategy, knowledge management, communications, information architecture, or related field.
- Proven ability navigating the federal contracting environment with skill (experience supporting Administration for Children and Families, other U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agencies, or other federal contracts strongly preferred).
- Experience implementing content strategy for communications efforts targeting diverse audiences including health professionals as well as consumers (especially underserved populations and those disproportionately affected by health and education disparities).
- Experience applying social marketing and behavior change principles to content strategies that maximize reach, engagement, and impact while optimizing user experience.
- Work effectively and professionally with JBS team members, as well as directly with clients.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk or computer workstation.
- Regularly uses a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
- Normal or corrected vision to read documents, view computer screens, and perform tasks that require visual accuracy.
- Ability to hear and understand spoken information in person and over the phone.
- Minimal lifting and carrying may be required, typically light office supplies or documents.
- Ability to move within the office environment to access equipment, files, and interact with colleagues.
- Ability to handle occasional stress related to deadlines, workloads, or challenging tasks.
