Job Description Summary: This position provides administrative services to support effective and efficient operations in all Practice functional areas.Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience required in a minimum of one (1) of the below;
  • A healthcare setting
  • Vocational training in healthcare
  • Possess knowledge of clinical care provided in a medical office setting along with insurance requirements, scanning and attaching documents within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), back office processes required.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel required. Possess ability to learn other software as needed. Experience with Meditech preferred.
  • Possess knowledge of office methods, equipment, operations and process required. Possess an understanding of patient billing processes related to payments and adjustments required.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations, various medical forms, reports and processing methods, required.
  • Possess ability to take the initiative to evaluate and institute problem solving on a daily basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Job Specific Duties:
  • Acts as a resource for staff in assigned area(s). Assists leadership in coordination of assigned staff as requested.
  • Works with leadership regarding implementation of practice policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a patient advocate.
  • Professionally provides reception and administrative duties per department procedure and protocol.
  • Performs the complete patient check in and check out process for assigned area(s) and per protocol.
  • Completes incoming and outgoing record requests per Logan Health’s procedure and protocol as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Processes insurance information, authorization requests, etc. as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Coordinates referrals to other practices and/or facilities as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Maintains consistent inventory of department office supplies as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Works closely with staff to create a positive work environment and excellent experience for the patient.
  • Multi-tasks, adapts, and promptly follows directions to meet practice needs.
  • Performs Revenue and Revenue Cycle related tasks per department procedure and as applicable to assigned area(s).
