- Design and coordinate testing programs, fixtures, adapters, and procedures for product testing in wire harness assembly and control panel assembly.
- Lead or support process improvement and defect reduction projects for control panel assembly and wire harness assembly.
- Create process documents, methods, instructions, and other reference materials as needed, utilizing various software tools to guide production assembly builds.
- Interpret technical data in the form of standards, processes, and customer specifications to create harness and panel assembly work instructions.
- Utilize data repository of standards for manufacturing processes and complete general analysis of this data in support of company initiatives.
- Identify and resolve emergent production issues utilizing root cause analysis, impact analysis, assimilate information quickly, and provide viable solutions, investigate potential impact and execute corrective action plans.
- Support outside vendors for product onboarding. Preparing documents, training, and issue resolution for each vendor.
- Coordinate daily tasks with other engineering technical resources/support.
- Contribute to other engineering responsibilities as needed.
- ERP/MRP, routing and BOM structure, UL508A recommended.
- Minimum Education Requirements:
- 4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, with 1-2 years of experience.
- Ability to interpret and update engineering product defining drawings, Wire Harness assemblies & components, Panel assemblies & components.
- Able to assess production needs for Wire Harness assembly & testing, Panel testing, Control Box testing, troubleshooting, and repairing prior to, or as part of, Quality Inspections.
- CAD software: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Arcadia.
- Exposure to or basic understanding of CNC programming.
- Understanding of ASME documentation standards.
- Able to develop accurate work instructions and test procedures based upon industry standards and guidelines.
- Strong Electrical and Mechanical aptitude required to support Wire Harness assembly and Control Panel assembly.
- Ability to provide hands-on production support with knowledge of appropriate processes for routing and installation of Wire Harnesses and the build of test equipment and product assembly which include electronic and mechanical components.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
- Must have strong communication skills with a positive attitude and customer appreciation mentality.
