- Ensures products received or produced meet technical specifications. Works under moderate supervision.
- Verifies the final quality of products on the production line.
- Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
- Separates products that do not have the desired technical specification, using basic and/or complex measurement techniques and equipment.
- Documents products that do not meet technical specifications using specified systems.
- Trains others in the use of measurement equipment, segregation of non-conforming products, and documentation.

- Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, “Metrology” e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical,
- Mechanical, Optical, Radiation, and Physical.
- Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measures to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.
- Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure the quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Requires some work experience and intermediate-level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
- Performs testing & updates the test logs on time notifying the Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer & Plant Quality Leader when the results of the test are out of specifications.
- Provide coverage to the Romer table in the absence/shortage of resources.
- Coach operators on the manufacturing lines to strive to build a quality culture.
- Assist quality engineers in data collection to understand the root cause.
- Issue Quality Alerts to mfg. lines for both internal and external customers.
- On an as-needed basis, provide training to new hires for Non-conformance, Material identification process, Inspection, testing & calibration modules.
- Performs capability analysis for test results on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Assist Quality Engineer and Plant Quality leader based on the disturbances observed on the manufacturing lines.
