- Setting up, maintaining, repairing, and improving the test equipment located in a test lab conducting a variety of highly technical engineering tests.
- This position requires competence in a variety of disciplines which can include maintaining, repairing, calibrating, and configuring systems commonly used in vehicle testing and characterization such instrumentation transducers, electro-mechanical controllers and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge and experience in motorcycle and specific Harley-Davidson mechanical systems
- Ability to assist in disassembly and fixturing motorcycles and components for measurement
- Knowledge of data acquisition systems and transducers, including programming, troubleshooting and repair is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of general mechanics and specifically Harley-Davidson motorcycles highly desirable.
- Knowledge of industrial protocol networking devices (ethernet, Sercos, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc) highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience with data retrieval and analysis a plus.
- Experience using dynamic and static test instrumentation and their calibration.
- Computer skills with basic competence in spreadsheets, word processing, electronic mail, etc. is required.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing.
- Minimum of associate degree in Electronic, electrical, mechanical, technology, or equivalent military training, applicable technical training certificates or suitable experience.
- A minimum of two years' experience will be required with an associate degree, seven years applicable experience without a degree. Technical Training certificate and experience relevance to be reviewed upon application.
- Must be able to lift motorcycle weight from parked position to upright riding position.
- Coordination of normal mental dexterity and visual attention. Must have good vision, hearing and motor skills as well as general good physical condition.
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Must demonstrate good team skills, and the ability to work with and learn from others.
- Must be willing to travel off site as needed. Overnight travel may be deemed necessary. (<10%)
- Document near misses, make suggestions for reduction of risk exposure and communicate all damage to vehicle including scrapes, dings etc. Participate in and support corrective action plans as requested
- Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug free.
