ID15A is optimized for operando and in-situ experiments using high-energy X-rays (40 - 100 keV).You will be strongly involved in the instrumental developments and maintenance of beamline ID15A. You will participate in ongoing in-house research programmes, the operation of the beamline, and provide support to external users as local contact.The successful candidate will play a major role in the running and further development of the Materials Chemistry beamline. User support will be a key activity which will provide much opportunity for collaborative work at the frontiers of the field.   • You hold a Higher university degree (Master or equivalent diploma offering 300 ECTS) in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related scientific discipline. A PhD would be an asset.
  • Proven experience in beamline alignment and operation, data acquisition, data processing, Python computer programming.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in high-energy X-ray powder diffraction. Knowledge of Topas software for powder diffraction analysis is essential.
  • Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary staff and facility users.
  • English proficiency (working language at the ESRF).
  • Good scientific writing skills are an asset.
