Job Summary:This position is full-time, non-tenure track with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. The finalist will be required to submit to a background investigation consistent with the policy of the University System of Georgia. Additional information about FVSU is available at .Teaches courses in the discipline area of political sciences. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Provides advising and academic support to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teaches typical load of 12 semester-hours of undergraduate courses each semester in the area of political science in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement.
  • Provides advisement, and academic support to students as needed.
  • Maintains classes related records and assesses student coursework.
  • Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities.
  • Participates in departmental, college, and university required activities.
Qualifications:Minimum:
  • Requires a master's degree inclusive 18 hours in Political Science or related field.
  • Teaching experience at undergraduate level in traditional classroom setting and /or online.
  • An established research interest to seek publications in refereed journals and other scholarly sources.
  • A commitment to student engagement and academic success.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, participate in departmental and university activities, and mentor students.
Preferred:
  • Earned D. from accredited institution.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience
  • Ability to interactively engage students to develop their enhanced critical thinking
  • Skill in communication at all levels and student.
