DescriptionThe Leasing Coordinator position is responsible for all accurate financial recording and documentation tracking of activities for properties owned and/or managed in St. Lawrence County. This includes but is not limited to the upkeep of tenant and property files, leases, contracts, evictions, vendor lists, and agreements. The Leasing Coordinator will review and understand all property management contracts and maintain all bank accounts, safety and tenant rules and regulations as stipulated by the management contracts. The Leasing Coordinator will work with and report to the Director of Operations for St. Lawrence County.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Distributes and collects applications for housing. Ensures all eligibility documents are complete. Coordinates with Department of Social Services or other sources of income support. Calculates rents according to established timelines. Prepares leases for new tenants and obtains signature. May refer prospective tenants to additional community resources when needed.
  • Works with the Coordinated Entry System for tenant selection for homeless housing units.
  • Ensure that eligibility requirements are properly documented based on housing type.
  • Accompanies the Facilities Manager during bi-annual inspections of rental program and non-program units. Additionally, is present for all pre-rental and exit inspections with facilities staff and tenants.
  • Implement and enforce leases, organization rules and regulations, invoicing and evictions filing.
  • Maintain tenant accounts, track security deposits, rent collections & receipts, lease dates and tenant events.
  • Completes annual tenant recertifications and documents appropriately in the tenant file.
  • Process work order requests from tenants timely. Contacts Facilities Manager immediately for health and safety concerns.
  • Prepare necessary supportive documents and reports on an as needed basis.
  • Participate as needed in annual organization operations budget development, annual reporting and assist in annual auditing processes.
  • Participate as needed in tenant review committee discussion regarding instances of acceptance, assistance, eviction and other tenant events.
  • Conduct marketing and outreach efforts as needed to maintain high occupancy levels.
  • Assist in day to day office organization, filing and answering of phones.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Management has the right to add or change the duties of this position at any time.RequirementsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAssociate's degree (A.A.) in Business Administration, or Secretarial Science, or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and four years of related work experience and/or training, preferably in human services background. High School/GED with demonstrated work experience in similar roles will be considered.
