HVAC SuperintendentGeneral SummaryThe HVAC Superintendent's primary purpose is to provide overall direction for the field installation of the assigned project. Reports directly to the General Superintendent and is responsible for field labor, labor coordination, quality control, and safety on assigned projects. Represents Weldon Contractors on the project site and ensures that the installation functions as designed and satisfies the contracted scope.HVAC Superintendent Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for quality installation of the project.
  • Reviewing submittals for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identifying potential change orders and communicating them to the General Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Experience working with chill water, hot water systems, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, sheet metal, flush systems and etc.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings.
  • Assist Project Mangers job projections, coordinate deliveries and attend cost/job reviews.
  • Schedule manpower for the project.
  • Capacity to supervise 1-2 foremen.
  • Interpret plumbing and HVAC drawings for craft installation.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions with General Contractors and General Superintendents.
  • Perform material take-offs, ordering tools, materials, and equipment in a timely fashion to maximize field productivity.
  • Coordination of installation between trades.
  • Ensure all on-site employees and assigned temps comply with OSHA standards & Weldon Contractors’ work rules.
  • Monitor labor reporting, job cost reviews, and prepare timesheets and two weeks look-aheads while coordinating with General Contractors.
  • Work with the Project Manager to bring the job in on time and under budget.
HVAC Superintendent Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Commercial HVAC Superintendent.
  • At least 8+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, preferably overseeing projects totaling up to 5 million.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills and a team player.
  • Must be detailed oriented and demonstrate organizational and planning skills.
  • Must have experience with one or more of the following programs:
  • BIM360
  • Box
  • Blue Beam
  • Procore
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Education/Certification requirements:
  • OSHA 30
