Summer Day Camp Lifeguard

- Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers while in or around the pool at all times
- Responsible, Dependable, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
- Current certification in lifeguard training or equivalent
- Current certification in first aid and CPR (advanced certification may be required based on camp location and site of delivery of aquatic program)
- Prior experience working with children
- Prior experience in Lifeguarding and/or Swim related instruction, preferred
- Supervise and guard all swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed
- Assist Camp Director/Staff with any pool related responsibilities as needed included but not limited to camper swim assessments
- Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies
- Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions
- Provide rescues as needed
- Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary
- Evaluate conditions and monitor weather reports for safety and initiate aquatics emergency action plan as required
- Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water as well as maintain a clean environment in and around the pool area to ensure that they are safe and useable
- Complete other duties, as assigned
