STATUS: Full-Time, Hybrid

REPORTS TO: Manager, Corporate Services

Kohl & Frisch is fully equipped to service large chain retailers, independent pharmacies, clinics, and hospitals for all their Rx, OTC, home healthcare, and front shop needs.Primary Role of This Position The Payroll Administrator is primarily responsible for assisting in the completion of the biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner.Major Responsibilities
  • Follows daily and biweekly processes to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of vacation and sick day entitlement balances
  • Prepares EFT requests as necessary
  • Prepares biweekly, monthly reports as necessary and as requested
  • Provides support as appropriate to supervisors, managers, and all Kohl & Frisch (K&F) employees regarding payroll related issues while also ensuring a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ensures that all payroll related policies and procedures are appropriately administered as per K&F policies and procedures
  • Assists with preparation of annual T4 forms and T4 reporting
  • Benefit administration from end to end in both HRIS and with benefit provider
  • Works closely with and is the back-up to the Senior Payroll Administrator
  • Participates in completing key process improvement initiatives within the payroll function, including project initiation, and provides support the team
  • Collaborates with the Human Resources department to ensure pay and personnel records are accurate and up to date
  • Reviews and verifies timesheet entries with supervisors and managers
  • Other duties as may be required
Experience and Qualifications
  • 3–5 years’ experience in administering full cycle payroll in accordance with applicable legislation
  • Payroll designation or working towards the designation is an asset
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience is preferred
  • Experience in management of full payroll cycle and all year-end functions including T4s and various government summaries, in accordance with statutory requirements and best payroll practices
  • Work in a fast-paced, multitasking, dynamic environment to meet aggressive deadlines with minimal supervision, as part of the payroll team
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and problem solve
  • Proficient skills in Excel and MS Office products
  • Perform tasks with high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
