Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.The Work
As the Systems Test Engineer, you will:
  • Provide testing support at various hardware in the loop test venues (both program and government venues), and at remote sites for Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS)
  • Execute system test to ensure defects have not been introduced into hardware and software during transportation, installation and connectivity
  • Ensure hardware and software function together at various sites as they did in the development laboratory.
This position requires the ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support business (Alaska, Colorado, and Hawaii). Huntsville, AL is the Primary Work Location (when not on travel).Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance required with ability to obtain & maintain Top Secret Clearance with SCIWho We Are

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and minimum of 5 years' related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years' related experience.
  • Security Plus Certification
  • Recent experience (hands on within the last 3 years) testing software and hardware for performance and functionality based on core functionality and requirements
  • Recent experience (hands on within the last 3 years) with software and hardware test planning, monitoring, and test execution
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support business (Alaska, Colorado, and Hawaii)
  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Familiar with reading, writing, and execution of test case procedures
  • Current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a Top Secret Clearance with SCI
Desired skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related field
  • Testing SW for performance and functionality based on requirement specification and ability to identify and document exact sequence of activities desired
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel
  • Basic understanding of network infrastructure and hardware
  • Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on limited direction and definition
  • Experience working in team using Agile Methodologies
  • CMMI Level 5 organization experience
  • Experience in a Test Lead role
  • Experience with Automated Testing
  • Experience with Missile Defense Systems
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
