- Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (within the training limitations of the aide).
- Assisting in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.
- Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (within the training limitations of the aide).
- Assisting patient/client in the self-administration of medication.
- Meeting safety needs of patients/clients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, restraints, etc.).
- Reporting on patient's/client's condition and significant changes to the assigned Case Manager.
- Adhering to the Agency's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
- Participates in public relations and community activities that promote the Agencies role as an effective member of the health care delivery system.

- This position has been designated Class I (see policy 9-001). Employees performing Class I duties may be involved in potential exposure to blood borne pathogens. All Class I employees will be offered Hepatitis B vaccination at no expense to the employee.
- Is in good standing with the State Nurse Aide registry as a Home Health Aide.
- Has successfully completed the agency’s written competency exam and skills demonstrations.
- Is at least 18 years of age.
- Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Prior to patient contact, presents a pre-employment health clearance.
- Has ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
- Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
- Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation.
- 1Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.
- Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with Agency requirements and is in good working order.
- Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
- Ability to deal effectively with stress.
