Our work culture includes a dynamic mix of professionals, with a diversity of skills and expertise.We are looking to hire a collaborative self-starter with an electrical background to join our transmission and distribution relay protection technical team.You will provide expertise in the management of protective relaying, control and energy management systems and equipment.Minimum Requirements:Proven technical and hands on experience in a utility based environment working with protective relays and systemsThree years of experience in oil and gas or a related industryAn electrical engineering degree, electrical engineering technologist diploma, or journeyman electrician certificationStrong electrical trouble shooting and analytical skills with knowledge of electrical circuit fundamentals and various intelligent electronic devices (IED) modelsA valid driver’s license and a clean driving recordResponsibilities:Provide support and input to ensure safe, efficient, and successful operation of our electrical assetsMonitor and manage all relay protection and metering devices for substation and T&D assetsParticipate in incident loss prevention investigations, HAZOPS and job safety analysisPerform the testing and calibration of our protection IEDs, and functional operational testing of all protection schemesManage testing equipment calibration records, assist with test procedures of substation auxiliary equipment, and verification of the operating center data systemsLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, AlbertaThe shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotationIf you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
