- Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control standards and procedures to ensure the consistent quality and safety of food products, conducting regular inspections and audits.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products, implementing systems and processes to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
- Supplier Management: Source and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure timely delivery of high-quality ingredients and materials at competitive prices.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the commissary team, including production staff, kitchen staff, and quality assurance personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve production targets and quality standards.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve production processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity, leveraging technology and best practices.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards, maintaining a clean and safe working environment and implementing measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Cost Control: Monitor production costs and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and logistics, to coordinate production schedules, address customer requirements, and support business objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the commissary team, encouraging feedback, implementing best practices, and fostering a spirit of excellence.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in food production management roles, with a proven track record of leadership and success in food manufacturing or commissary operations.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, GMP, and food hygiene practices, with experience implementing and maintaining food safety systems.
- Production Management Skills: Demonstrated expertise in production planning, inventory management, quality control, and process improvement within a food manufacturing environment.
- Team Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team, foster collaboration, and drive results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve production challenges.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in food production equipment and machinery, as well as computer skills for inventory management and production planning software.
