Your Role: The Junior Web Developer will support our IT department in programming and configuring both in-house and externally sourced software, focusing primarily on ensuring the seamless functionality of our web applications. This role requires a strong understanding of coding and web development practices and a keen ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 1. Software Development: The Junior Web Developer will work under the guidance of the Senior Web Developer to develop, test, and maintain web applications, both internal and client-facing. This involves programming, configuration, and debugging tasks. 2. Technical Support: A significant role includes addressing incoming technical support requests. The Junior Web Developer will work closely with our IT department and the member services team to resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively. 3. Problem-Solving: The Junior Web Developer will apply their technical knowledge and analytical skills to troubleshoot and solve complex issues. This will often involve identifying, diagnosing, and fixing bugs and optimizing performance. 4. Documentation: To ensure that our IT procedures remain consistent and replicable, the Junior Web Developer will be responsible for documenting their work. This includes recording problem-solving processes, software configurations, and code changes in a clear and accessible manner. 5. Team Communication: While the Senior Web Developer is the primary point of contact for other departments, the Junior Web Developer will also be expected to communicate effectively within our team and with other teams as necessary. What You Need: HTML CSS Javascript PHP Wordpress (Elementor) MongoDB REST SOAP - Proficient in various programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Knowledge of databases like SQL or MongoDB and experience with version control systems like Git are also beneficial. - Understanding of Web Technologies: Familiarity with web protocols, web application architectures, and web services (REST, SOAP) is important. The candidate should also understand responsive design principles and be able to implement them into their projects. - Candidates should ideally have at least 1-2 years of professional experience in web development. This includes both front-end and back-end development. They should have participated in the full development life cycle of web applications, from initial design to final deployment. - Experience in working collaboratively with a team is crucial. Given our team structure, candidates should have prior experience working in a team environment, preferably within a tech team. This includes experience in clearly communicating technical ideas and concepts, as well as working together to solve complex problems. - The candidate should have some experience in providing technical support.
