Experience the diversity and uniqueness of supporting different practices in a virtual and face to face capacity.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Health Improvement Practitioner to provide holistic health and wellbeing strategies both virtually and face to face working across multiple general practice clinics in the absence of the existing HIP, or to increase capacity in a general practice for a period of time.If you are passionate about supporting an increase in access to brief intervention and wellbeing services for patients of general practice and would like to work where each day may be supporting a different practice, then this role may well suit you. You will be part of our growing HIP team and well supported.Position:This position requires a Mental Health Clinician who is endorsed as a Health Improvement Practitioner and who is prepared to travel.Our services are provided in accordance with the principles of Te Tiriti ō Waitangi, Tikanga and Māori models of health and wellbeing. Services are culturally responsive to the needs of all service users, their whanau and community.You will be experienced in providing the Te Tumu Waiora model, that includes:
  • Providing brief psychological interventions
  • Delivering evidence informed groups
  • A fast pace in the GP practice setting
  • Innovation and flexibility
  • Opportunities to contribute to service development
  • Variety of work, working with diverse practice population, all ages and stages
  • Population based focus
  • Services to target our high priority populations
  • Education of colleagues
This is a newly created position gives variety and the opportunity to contribute to holistic wellbeing throughout Tai Tokerau where no day will be the same. If this excites you and you meet the following criteria then please get in touch.To be considered for this position you must have:
  • Experience and endorsement as a Health Improvement Practitioner
  • A flexible adaptable approach to a new way of working
  • A current New Zealand registration under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA) and full registration with your professional association e.g., Psychology, Psychotherapy, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work, DAPPANZ Registration, or a full member of NZ Association of Counsellors and accredited by the NZAC to work within the mental health and addictions services scope of practice.
  • A current unencumbered full NZ driver's licence
  • Excellent computer and literacy skills including MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be fully vaccinated for COVID
  • NZ residency, citizenship, or a open current work visa not tied to an accredited employer.
