The RoleYou will be based in a large secondary level, 400 bed accredited public hospital providing acute and elective care for a region of over 162,000 people. It is one of the largest provincial hospitals in New Zealand. The hospital is modern with a full range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services. In addition, outreach services are provided at rural and community based facilities across the region in Wairoa and Waipukurau. The Paediatric department consists of 9 Consultants, 5 Registrars and 5 Senior House Officers. You will share a combined roster with the Registrars covering all acute areas including Special Care baby Unit and delivery suite and the children’s ward. There are Education and training opportunities encouraged and supported by the department with Paediatric topic lectures available as well as the opportunity to complete New born Life support.LocationThe Hawke’s Bay region (pop. 162,000) is set on the beautiful East Coast of the North Island.
